Muscle Hypertrophy
With consistent and regular exercise, your body will become fit and healthy. If you add weight training to your exercise program, you will expect the hypertrophy of your muscles. Hypertrophy is the medical term that means there is an excessive growth of your tissues. In muscle hypertrophy, your muscles are reacting to the changes done to your tissues brought by the resistance of the weights. Once your muscle hypertrophies, the fatty layers in the skin thin out to make way for muscle bulk. Hence, in place of fats, your body becomes well-defined and leaner because of the muscled and toned effect.
Muscle hypertrophy should be a normal physiological response. In some diseases such as Guillain-Barre Syndrome, there is a masked muscle hypertrophy but in truth, the deep-seated muscles are atrophied and the fatty layer predominates.
In exercise, low-impact aerobics do not usually increase muscle bulk unless you carry weights during the routines. But as an exception, the heart will normally hypertrophy to accommodate the increased circulation in the body. This, then, is the only muscle growing in all types of exercises when done on a regular and consistent basis.

One of the benefits of muscular hypertrophy is the obvious increase in muscle strength. Because of the strength, you can do more activities and even perform better at your sport. Having bulging biceps can get you somewhere too especially if you are aspiring to become a famous person. Most people will appreciate your lean body and well-defined muscles.
