Gone are the days of using ugly sweatpants and gym shirts. Nowadays, exercise clothes have become stylish yet affordable, practical and functional. Blame it on the celebrities who workout and show off their fashionable gym clothes and shoes. The majority of the public are greatly influenced by this sports clothes mania that popular brands have also joined in the bandwagon.

Take for example Adidas. Adidas is a popular sporting brand that carry primarily carry the shoes line but eventually offered clothes and other sporting accessories. Because of the demand of functional and trendy items for sport or exercise, Adidas has contracted the designs of the famous Stella McCartney for a sporting women’s line. Eventually, Nike and other sporting brands have followed suit.

Fashionable exercise clothes not only are for women into sports. Men’s exercise clothes have also evolved from the usual dreary greys into clothes with sport technology fabrics.

When choosing for the best exercise clothes, there are many factors to consider. For one, your clothes must be applicable to the sport or exercise you are engaged in. Generally, there are multipurpose exercise clothes but the features to look for include the following: comfort, fabric, style and price.

Comfort

Your exercise clothes must be comfortable enough that you can exercise effectively in it. It should not be too loose as it can get in the way if you have exercise equipment, nor should it be too tight or constricting. The proper fit of the clothes should ideally be close to the body.

Fabric. It was previously thought that cotton fabric is the way to go. Although cotton is known for its natural fibres and quick absorption of sweat, it has now been demoted in its ranks in the sporting clothes line. Experts share that the best fabrics are those stretchable material that absorbs sweat but quickly dries it. Cotton does have this property but the shirt becomes soaked in sweat which can be unhealthy. Fortunately, almost all exercise clothes available in the market today have this new technology fabric.

Style. Different styles and colours are available online and in sports shops. It’s up to your individual preferences.

Price. With these new fabrics, price of exercise clothes generally have become pricier. However, this investment is worth it because it will contribute to make your performance better. Just take advantage of online sales or shop sales once in awhile.
