Agility Exercise
Exercise is often associated with strength and endurance development. Not known to many, speed training is an essential add-on to enhance your exercise experience. Agility training is usually applicable for the sports training of an athlete. Once strength and endurance have been achieved, speed training comes next. With agile moves, an athlete’s power moves are greatly enhanced and give more to his or her performance.
Agility training does not need a lot of sophisticated tools. In fact, all you need is the ability to sprint and do speed drills. Like weight training, agility training is not done on a regular basis. Rest should be incorporated in the program for the muscles to heal and recover.
Agility training entails the usual warm-up and cool-down exercises. You must prepare your muscles to the speed drills and sprints, or else, risk injury to your muscles.

Agility training can improve your acceleration especially when you participate in a particular sport. Speed endurance and your sprint form and technique will also be improved. Additionally, research has confirmed that agility training among the elderly has improved their balance and decreased the fall accidents in this age group.

There are many agility training programs specific to the sport that you are into. Generally, it covers walking and running workouts, heel kicks, ladder drills, crossovers, polymetrics and other speed drills for the development of the athlete’s speed.
