Physiologic responses
As with most exercises, your heart is the prime-mover in pumping out the blood to supply to the working muscles and tissues during exercise. Since your heart is also a muscle, working it out means it will physiologically grow. Hypertrophy of the heart is a normal occurrence if the individual regularly exercises especially focused on stressing a healthy heart. Care must be taken if the individual has special heart conditions, and so a consultation with a doctor should be in place. Additionally, there should be limits to an aerobic exercise program. Extreme activities can lead to musculoskeletal injuries brought by the exercise.
